Comprehensive Financial Planning
We evaluate your current financial situation and retirement readiness, clarify and prioritize your goals in and beyond retirement, and identify potential strategies and next steps for savings, investing, and estate planning. Your plan is customized just for you and provides a framework for decision-making rather than a linear plan.
Retirement Planning & Income Strategies
We help estimate retirement income needs and potential funding sources, structure a strategy for withdrawals from various accounts, and coordinate Social Security and other benefits with the overall plan. While doing this, we regularly factor in inflation, longevity, and market risk. We cannot predict or control future market performance, but we can help you evaluate different scenarios and tradeoffs.
Tax Strategy & Coordination
Because of our firm’s tax background, tax considerations are an important part of our planning work. We consider the tax implications of savings and withdrawal strategies and help evaluate the potential tax impact of equity compensation, business decisions, or transactions. When appropriate, we also coordinate with external tax professionals at your direction.
We do not provide tax or legal advice. Clients should consult their own tax and legal professionals regarding their specific situations.
Investment Management
Investment management is provided in the context of your overall retirement and wealth plan. Our work typically includes developing an investment strategy aligned with your objectives and risk tolerance, diversifying across appropriate asset classes, where suitable, and periodically reviewing portfolios and making adjustments as needed based on your goals and circumstances.
All investing involves risk, including the possible loss of principal. We do not guarantee performance or any particular outcome.
Multi-Generational Wealth and Financial Planning Strategies
We have experience working with families across generations because financial lives don’t start and end with one person, it involves the entire family. We support these clients by helping clarify and organize the family’s financial picture, providing guidance at a pace that acknowledges both the technical and emotional aspects of financial decisions, and facilitating discussions around roles, expectations, and future planning.
Planning for Business Owners
We help integrate business and personal planning by reviewing how the business fits into your overall net worth and retirement plan and discussing options for succession, transition, or potential sale. We also coordinate retirement plans and benefits for owners and key employees and considering tax and cash flow implications in the context of your goals.
Family, Estate & Legacy Planning Support
We help clients consider how their financial resources may support the people and causes important to them. This often includes identifying priorities for family support and legacy, coordinating with estate planning attorneys on structures such as wills and trusts, and helping organize information so that loved ones understand roles and responsibilities.
We do not draft legal documents; clients should work with their own attorneys for legal services.
Support for Widows & Families in Transition
We frequently work with widows and families experiencing significant change. In these situations, our role may include helping organize accounts and documents, providing an overview of the financial picture and options available, and working through decisions at a pace that feels manageable.
Education & Goal-Based Planning
Clients often come to us with specific goals, such as education funding, a second home on the South Shore, or other long-term priorities. We help them define timelines and funding targets, evaluate savings and investment options, and keep these goals in the context of their broader financial plan.
Who We Serve in Southern Massachusetts
Powder Point Wealth Management serves individuals, families, and business owners who value long-term relationships and a coordinated approach to their financial lives. While each client situation is unique, many are nearing or in retirement and reside in Pembroke, Duxbury, and the broader Southern Massachusetts area.
Executives & Professionals
We assist executives and professionals by providing a framework for connecting compensation, savings, and retirement goals, and help evaluate tax-aware strategies around bonuses and equity compensation. We work closely with them to align investment strategies with time horizons and risk tolerance.
Business Owners & Entrepreneurs
We support business owners and entrepreneurs by helping them assess the role of the business in overall net worth and retirement planning, discussing potential approaches for transition or sale scenarios, and coordinating planning around retirement plans, tax considerations, and risk management.
